Sony CEO confirms PS3 launch for Spring 2006

While the confirmation appears to only apply to a Japanese launch, with "European and US launches following later in the year, or early in 2007", the source is obviously well placed.

Other articles/rumors suggest that US launch will be Holiday 2006, possibly later if the X360 doesn't gain significant market share.
